YUXI & LONGXI, which was once called one of China's Three bronze Unique, dates back more than a thousand years ago in Han Dynasty. Both of the vessels were named in accordance with different patterns of designs in the bottom. Where the YUXI has 4 fishes in its bottom, the LONGXI is embedded with 4 dragons. Made of smelting and founding bronze, YUXI & LONGXI can cause water sprays through friction and resonance, generating a physical phenomenon as sound and water ripples. If you rub with wet hands against both of the vessel's handles, the water surface will emerge in regular ripples, then the water waves coming from both sides will collide with each other, producing standing waves to cause water spray, even up to 50 cms at its highest; at the same time you can hear pleasing sounds, produced by the vibration.
The process of YUXI water spray is like this: Put the vessel on a solid base, with soft material such as cloth or cotton as a base, and pour water into the vessel up to its upper half. When the performer rubs against both handles of the vessel, the surface will cause different wave ripples to appear, according to different skills and techniques produced by the performer. When a performer has better skills, the vessel can not only produce an astonishing and baffling sound, but also cause water ripples to jump out in spray, even up to 50 cms from the 4 fishes at the bottom of the bowl. This product is suitable for adult and child alike, as their toys. It can also be used as a teaching instrument, for instance in physics class. Play while cultivating ability.
