The Green Tara is a
female Buddha. Her name means Star, or also: bridge, passage, crossing.
Metaphor for the one who helps you cross the ocean of suffering. The Green Tara
is pictured as a young girl or young woman, relaxed, playful and dynamic. Her
green colour indicates her being part of the Buddha family of action, and
symbolises her activity and power. She sits relaxed in the lotus position, with
her right leg out front, ready for action, ready to come to the rescue of
everyone. The blue lotus and the mudra of her left hand indicate purity and
power. With her right hand she expresses passion.
